“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations…” Matthew 28:19a

The Great Commission is the purpose of the church and its ministry, however, the modern church does not need to go to the ends of the earth to make disciples of all nations. God has brought the world to the communities surrounding the church so the church need only to reach out. An effective church reflects the community it serves and currently, churches in the United States do not reflect their surrounding communities.

The Beloved Community is where God’s Shalom (wholesome, goodness, peace with justice) is evident and experienced by all. One of the ways we can be the community of God where everyone experiences the Shalom of God is by increasing our capacity for IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Anti-racism).

“Rev. Dr. Grace Pak has blessed the Mountain Sky Conference with two recent training sessions. Both trainings were focused on Implicit Bias and Cultural Competency, helping us be more equipped to lead and serve within the local church, Conference level, and community.”
